School / Group Rates

It's hard to imagine a better school field trip anywhere!

Where else are you going to find a Science Centre, a Dinosaur Museum, a Planetarium, and Outdoor fun combined into one neat package.

We realize that many field trips are a bit of a reward at the end of the year, but we like to insure that at least part of a school field trip is educational. We encourage students to take part in a short tour of the crews quarters of the space shuttle and try to subject them to a short talk in the dinosaur museum. The 15 minute planetarium show is usually an easy sell and then we simply let them loose to explore the science centre and the outdoor activities. Depending on the weather the pool may or may not be open but if it is, we have life guards on duty.

We built the park to be educational and so our school rates are designed to be affordable. Students are $5.00, pre schoolers are $2.00 (tax included), and teachers, chaperones and bus drivers are free. Outreach .(A clear demonstration of our dedication to science education)

In 1995 the "Science and Adventure Park" entered the prestigious Science Culture Canada competition and was successful in receiving funding for a travelling "Dinosaur Road Show." The outreach project travelled for a 2 month period, from Tignish to Souris visiting 17 different schools and providing lectures to over 7000 students.(That's about 1/3 rd of the Island's school population!) Bart also volunteers for the "Innovators" program and also, on his own, provides lectures, to schools, Community School, service groups, and anyone else who is interested. Subjects include Space Exploration, Astronomy, Ancient Egypt, (There is a full size reconstruction of King Tut's tomb just down the road from the Park which Bart also researched and built).
